Press Release:

Hustler is currently in negotiations to purchase Fountain powerboats and all its assets. As of Oct. 5th, Fountain powerboats will go up for auction and no longer be doing business. Hustler Powerboats will move its operations to NC and re-build the Fountain and Baja Line to full capacity over the next 4 years and keep the Fountain Legacy intact as we feel it is a big part of Performance boat history and do not want to see it die off. We are dedicated to re-strengthening both Fountain and Baja, keeping the same look and feel with improved quality and workmanship. Over these last couple years, Hustler has been blessed with sales and is running strong and would like to give back to the boating community by saving these companies from being auctioned off piece by piece. If you have any question please feel free to email me at john@hustlerpowerboats.com

If it is going up for auction then it is possible there will be other bidders or interests there as well. However If it DOES go up for auction I would much rather see another boting company get it that wants to continue the lines.. Jamie / Lakeside

Nothing personal, but "giving back to the boating community" is great when you donate a grand at a poker run. Dropping $5-10 LARGE is another story. Come on...

Does this mean that an Outer Limits will Take the V bottom speed record and Never have a Contender to take it away??????? Hmmmnnnn

Look at the back of a Cheetah or Slingshot and you have a "reverse beak." If Hustler buys Fountain, the running surface of their boats will be like 6 feet shorter! ;)

The facility is awesome. I would think many boat companies would like to have it. The well funded ones anyway.

It will be a culture shock. Not sure how the locals will take to some "Fast Talking Yankees" moving in.:biggrinjester:

If it means they keep their jobs then they'll love it. Besides...all they gotta do is replace ya'llz with yiz and they're on their way.

When I moved to SC in the late '90s I spent the first year very worried that my car would blow up every morning I started it. They don't like our kind. Mainly b/c i put all most of the competition out of business within 2 years with a secret weapon..........

I actually worked:sifone::lurk5:
